About

Merkaz Modiin is a friendly community synagogue in the heart of Modiin, in the Masuah neighborhood (Givat C), on the corner of Nahal Paran and Nahal Tzin streets. Our synagogue is walking distance from parks, the Azrieli mall, the train station and the acclaimed Masu’at Neriah religious primary school.

Founded in 1997 and nicknamed ‘the Bunker Shul’, our community is comprised of 60 families, mostly of Ashkenazic origin. We daven nusach ‘Sfard’ and boast a healthy mix of Israeli, Anglo and Russian congregants. Everyone is welcome!

Our spiritual leader, Rabbi Gideon Weitzman, is a leading expert in the field of Fertility and Halachah. His words of Torah on this topic are regularly published in OU’s Torah Tidbits. He is also famous for his Q&A sessions (‘shut l’yeladim’) with children after kiddush – don’t miss them!
